Bulk Creating Contact lists From CSV and creating New contact groups in Outlook 2013

Creating a CSV in Excel -

 

Open Excel. 

Label the first 2 columns as First Name and the second column as Email.

Below these headers type or paste in The full names of the new contacts into the first name column and the email addresses of the contacts into the email column.

then go to file and select save as, in the save box that appears put in a file name.

Before saving click in the drop down box below file name and select comma deliminated .csv from the list; then click save.

Creating Bulk new contacts from csv -

After the csv has been readied open local outlook 2013 (start menu search for outlook)

In Outlook go to file in the top left and select open/export, then import/export.

A Wizard will appear on the screen. Select import from another program or file and go next. Select comma Separated Values and next.

Browse for the CSV file you created with the emails in; select do not import duplicate items and select next.

Press next on the next page as nothing needs to be changed.

Then select map custom fields and scroll through the right hand column until you find email. From the left hand column click and drag email to email in the right hand column. This will link the data from the csv column with the outlook field.

Then select finish and it will create all the contacts in the csv.


Creating a new contact group-

At the bottom of outlook 2013 select people.

Then select New Contact Group from the top bar.

In the new window that opens name the group then select add members.

Choose the members you wish to add to the contacts list and select ok.

Then click save and close in the top left.
